Pigeonnier gite is an apartment in Laugerie basse gites, it is in between the main house and 4 gites in a barn conversion situated on the upper level . The gite overlooks lovely gardens and is set in 2 hectares of manicured gardens and orchards. We have a large communal swimming pool and it is now heated (2025) for the months of May , June and September to an ambient temperature 25-28 degrees with a sunbathing area, sun loungers, umbrellas, tables and chairs. Guests can also enjoy a table tennis table, badminton, a barbecue area with two barbecues and plenty of space for the little ones to play freely. There is a calm and relaxing atmosphere here that you can enjoy. Close to Saint-Cyprien with its famous Sunday market 4 km away, and its many restaurants, bars, boutiques, shops and supermarkets. I have visited this area for many years and fell in love with this beautiful place, I love nature and nothing could be more perfect than living here. I decided to have a complete lifestyle change and moved from the UK May 2021 to follow my dreams of living and working here in France. I have two grown up sons called James and Matthew who have spent several holidays here with me before I decided to make the move. They are delighted and will be spending many holidays here with their partners and friends! The move here was made easier as my sister Jillian and her partner Nigel live about a minute away from Laugerie Basse with their dog Elon, which is fantastic and I have a cat called Miska .. it's fun when the dog and cat meet!! So it's very much a family affair here as my folks visit as well and enjoy this beautiful place. I love walking along the Dordogne river as the views are stunning in all seasons and it's very peaceful, there are lots of fantastic walks here to enjoy. I am happy to suggest good walks or even show guests a lovely walk locally. I also enjoy cycling, swimming, canoeing and meditation and it's the perfect place here at Laugerie Basse to enjoy all of these activities.

A few minutes from the superb castles and Beautiful Villages of France - The old village of Berbiguières with its castles and its 12th century church is 2 km away, the Château des Milandes 6 km, the Château de Beynac 12 km, Castelnaud 14 km, La Roque-Gageac 17 km, Sarlat 24 km. Admire the prehistoric sites in Les Eyzies (13 km), visit the museum or visit a cave or ten. Escape to one of the many medieval Bastides and Beautiful Villages of France. Enjoy breathtaking views from Belves (10 km) or Domme (20 km).
