Our Guest House with art is settled in Burgundy close to Auxerre and the House of Colette, it is located in a green countryside with ponds and charming villages, the castles of Guedelon, Saint-Fargeau, Ratilly, Vézelay and the vineyards of Chablis... This heritage land has its stories... Around 1750 the owner of the place exploited the quarry to extract yellow ocher. Two centuries later, this house belongs to a French pop star in the 60s. Today, this place is enjoying a new life with its guest rooms, the attractions of the art gallery, its park, its workshops, its exhibitions. Diner on reservation -48h. Treat yourself to a stay in our spacious place. Welcome to the Domaine de l'Ocrerie.
We left the Parisian life to settle in this eighteenth century house in the countryside. Cathy worked on film and photo sets in London, Paris, the Avignon Opera House and the Strasbourg Opera House. Gilles is a painter, artistic director, graphic designer and creator of its Studio We also propose artistic workshops in our Ocrerie !
We live in the village of Pourrain ! The history of Pourrain, it is also its ocher quarry on our domaine... Our Saint-Baudel chapel from the early 16th century contains paintings on the paneled vault. They represent floral and architectural motifs, birds, faces. A motto is written: "Do well and let say!" This vault, classified Historical Monuments was restored in July 2007. For Tesla drivers, there's are electric car terminals at 800m from our B&B : 2X12,2kw and 2X3,7 kw> Rue de la Maîtrise, 89240 Pourrain/ Other fast electric terminals in Toucy at 8kms away. + a standard reinforced electric plug on our private parking.
