This cosy renovated self-catering apartment is situated in rural Brittany. All accommodation on offer is situated on the first floor with the owners living on the ground floor, both units being separated by a thermal and acoustic insulated new suspended floor and is indicated on the photos as the stone building. The cream rendered building attached is owned by and used for storage by the owners and is not habitable. The property is in a quiet and peaceful location but is not isolated and within easy reach to local amenities. Ample parking is available off-road to the side of the cottage for cars with private access to the first floor, Ample parking to the rear for motorcycles. The accommodation is a great 'central base' from which to explore Brittany. The First floor was created during 2014/2016 to a high standard with other extensive renovations to the whole cottage and grounds. Whilst the accommodation is suitable for children we suggest it is not suited to infants under the age of 5 years approx. due to the open tread stairs and non-availability of stairgate, cot and highchair. Although the owners are on-site, they will be available only as much or as little as you need. Access to the whole of the exterior, just under 1 acre is available, as is use of the Hot Tub (dressing gowns and 'crocs' provided) by request. Use of freshly picked fruit and vegetables from the garden is available during the season. The apartment will be in a clean and tidy condition when you arrive, please leave it in a similar condition on departure to avoid being charged a cleaning fee. MIN BOOKING 3 NIGHTS

Although purchased in 1990 the cottage was used for rental accommodation and owner holidays until 2013 when we took early retirement and moved to France to enjoy the change in lifestyle, quality of life, peace and quiet. We have renovated the cottage and added the first-floor accommodation. Our goal is to ensure all quests enjoy their time here with us at Canal Cottage and desire to return. We will therefore be available for as much or as little that you decide.

We live in a lovely little hamlet of 8 immediate properties in rural Brittany. We love the peace and quiet it provides and usually the area is free of traffic ques. We have found most people to be very friendly, respectful and helpful. The cottage backs onto the Nantes to Brest canal and the towpath is easily accessible via the nearby lock gates approx 100m away and is ideal for walking or cycling.
