Martine and Wim got to know each other at the scouts and guides in Wondelgem (Ghent-Belgium) and married in 1979. After a year (1982) in Maaseik, they came back to Ghent and built a new house in Bachte-Maria-Leerne (Deinze 1985). In 2000 they acquired the property Rozies in Dunes, Wim combined this with his job as an independent SAP consultant. Martine took care of the on-site exploitation, in particular the gastronomic table d'hôtes. As a passionate household regent, she previously gave cooking lessons to adults and contributed to cookbooks and cooking programs on television. The consultancy and the activities in Deinze have been ended completly. As (young) pensioners, Wim and Martine are passionated to continue their work in the 'maison d'hôtes' and they are happy to receive you at Rozies in Dunes !

Please note that bedlinen, towels and the cleaning are not included. Cleaning products and tools are provided for free. The guests should clean their rooms during their stay and before check-out. The final cleaning can be provided on request at a supplemental cost of 100 euro. Guests can bring their own linen but sleeping bags are not allowed. On site it is possible to rent: * bedlinen including a bottom sheet, a duvet cover and pillow covers at 15 euro per bed; * a set of 3 towels of different sizes and 2 washcloths at 10 euro.

Dunes is found in the centre of south-west France, on the border of the regions Occitane and Nouvel-Aquitaine, and the departments Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot-et-Garonne and Gers. The landscape of the Tarn et Garonne is characterized by dovecotes that you notice on top of the hills or next to the farms. They come in different styles of construction, brick or stone or wood, simple or edited, round or square and built on one or more poles. Since the Middle Ages, pigeon manure was a source of income, initially intended only for the nobility. After the French Revolution of 1789, farmers received the permission to build them. Fortified cities, sanctuaries and castles testify to the development of "new towns" in the Middle Ages in the south-west from France. Characteristic are the covered market, the street plan in the checkerboard pattern, arcades and ramparts.
