Hello! We are Beryl and Gareth Evans and we are the very proud owners of Moulin Toucan. We are a professional couple who having grown up in South Africa, have spent our working lives in the UK. In 2017 inspired by some of the television programmes at the time, we decided to take on a “little” renovation project here in France! We ended up with a beautiful 300 year old water mill which over the years had been neglected and unloved. We could see the potential and set out on the renovations and rebuild. We have been very busy over the years have rebuilt both the Moulin and the attached Gîte, along with landscaping the extensive gardens and islands. We concluded the main developments in July, 2019. We would be extremely pleased for you to join us and experience some of the joy we feel from this naturally beautiful setting, and as we now embark on our next chapter, moving from building and renovation, to becoming perfect hosts! We all have different views around what makes a perfect holiday. At Moulin Toucan we have tried to create an environment where you can come for a completely stress free holiday, adults can relax and socialise, whilst children can play and swim.

An officially rated 4 star Gîte attached to Moulin Toucan with private parking, garden and terrace, and a private pool with decked surround. Close to Limoges airport and the picturesque town of Bellac, this 3 bedroom Gîte is fully furnished with 2 double beds, 2 twin beds and a pull out sofa making it possible to sleep up to 8 people. All facilities are for the exclusive use of the guests. The property is on the ground level, with comfortable access from the car parking, throughout the garden and within the Gîte. The lounge and dining areas are very comfortable, and the new, fully equipped kitchen has everything for your catering needs. All bedrooms have high quality mattresses and bedding, to ensure you enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep. The Gîte also has full facilities to accommodate a baby, on request. The modern bathroom is equipped with a vanity unit, mirror, light and has a combination bath/shower, washbasin and toilet. The garden has been designed for maximum versatility with an exterior dining area, shaded relaxation outdoor seated area to enjoy evening drinks on the riverside and of course, the swimming pool and BBQ area.

There are some easy walks around the Gîte of various categories ranging from a nice stroll along the river to more challenging rambles in and around Mont de Blond, which is also great for mountain biking. In a beautiful rural setting, attached to 'Moulin Toucan', a 300 year old mill house, this newly renovated Gîte offers an idyllic retreat in nature. Wake up with the sound of the river and decide how you want to spend the day. With plenty of activities for the garden and pool. The Gite is ideally located for Limoges airport, which is only 25-30 minutes drive and 10 mins from the town of Bellac. Locally, there are some very authentic bars and restaurants to cater for all budgets, although you will need a car to benefit from these! There are also tourist attractions nearby ranging from museums and shopping in Limoges and Poitiers, the sobering wartime memorial at Aradour-sur-Glane, a variety of water sports at Lac de Saint-Pardoux , kayaking at Exideuil on the River Vienne and a waterpark at Poitiers.
