Gite Le Carrosse is situated within the tranquil commune of Mailhac sur Benaize in the heart of the Haute Vienne department. Surrounded by nature, river walks, waterfalls, it’s fabulous countryside views and also within walking distance of two popular restaurants. For those fishing enthusiasts you can fish on Lake Mondon, literally a short stroll from the cottage. All on one level which comprises of open plan living space with lounge/dining kitchen area. A double bedroom overlooking the rear garden and decking area. Another bedroom comprising of two single beds again overlooking Lake Mondon. There are local shops and supermarkets in the commercial village of St Sulpice Les Feuilles that is literally a 5 minutes drive from the gite. Gite Le Carrosse is approximately a 10 minute drive from junction 22 of the A20 and 40 minutes drive to Limoges airport. Your host will do everything possible to make your stay comfortable.

Mondon used to be an area known for it's blacksmiths. In one of our outbuildings you can see the history of the wagonmaker who lived here 125 years ago. The picture of him and his wife are still there and also his ledger, dated back from 1896. The correspondence between him and his wife during the first world war will leave you with goosebumps. We can show you on request. The nature here is almost untouched and hiking will leave you speachless. Don't be surprised if you see some wildlife like deer and birds of prey. It is an ideal area for painters and photographers. During summer there are lots of local markets and festivals. Many good restaurants around the area.
