La Haute gite is on three floors: On the ground floor, you'll find an open-plan layout; a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy lounge. Ascend to the first floor, you will find a charming double bedroom with a lovely Queen sized bed, accompanied by a separate shower room. Finally, on the top floor, you'll discover a delightful cozy twin bedroom and beautiful bathroom; with fascinating beams that exude charm and character. This area is absolutely perfect for youngsters, making them feel right at home. There is ample parking available for you in front of our barn, situated directly across a sleepy country lane. Discover a large, and welcoming, yet secluded main garden; where we offer a variety of toys and games for our younger visitors, including ping-pong, soft archery, football, and badminton. And for those seeking a serene countryside experience, we provide plenty of chairs, sun loungers, and picnic tables for you to relax and unwind. La Haute gite has a great private, covered BBQ area located at the top of the main garden. With table, chairs, gas plancha, lighting and WiFi, just for you. Our cozy combination of the two gites comfortably accommodates 8 people, making it an ideal choice for a holiday with friends or family. We understand the significance of our pets, and that is why we warmly welcome them in La Haute. We are a small, family-run business: just the two of us along with our mischievous foursome of cats, who can be spotted playfully roaming around the gardens! We are located in the charming little hamlet of La Besse, within the commune of Videix. Our primary passions revolve around nature, wildlife, and vintage antiques. Fortunately, we are situated in the heart of one of the most pristine areas in rural France, allowing us to indulge in our love for walking, cycling, and swimming in the summer. Living here has taught us to always carry a camera, as the abundance of the wildlife in this region is simply astounding. Thanks to the tranquility that surrounds us, many usually shy animals and birds are easily encountered during daylight hours, giving us the perfect opportunity to capture breathtaking photographs. During the summer, we've established a work / life balance : at 4 pm we take a break from whatever we are doing and make our way to the nearby lake for a refreshing swim. The lake is just a short 5-minute drive or a pleasant 30-minute walk away, making it super convenient. It's the perfect way to fill a few hours or an entire day. To complete our lake adventure, we absolutely love visiting the two little Bistro's along the shore. During the summer months, these charming spots are open and waiting for us! After a swim, we unwind with a cool drink and, if I'm lucky, a delightful evening meal while admiring the breathtaking sunset over the lake. We simply can't let our guests have all the fun—we want to join in on the relaxation too!

Boasting two charming sandy beaches with designated swimming areas, two delightful Bistro cafés and (if you are feeling more energetic) a nautical center, where you can rent kayaks and paddle-boards etc. My idea of heaven is to simply enjoy a leisurely swim and then relax in the dappled sunlight, under the trees. During the summer months, the lake has dedicated lifeguards to ensure your families safety. If you are looking for exciting family activities, there is also a fantastic tree-top adventure park only 10-minutes away. There are countless options for even more fun experiences; from riding velo-rails and visiting water parks, to bowling and enjoying lazer quests. There is also plenty of fishing and golf available locally. There is a wide range of activities for everyone. If you are a fan of sightseeing and immersing yourself in culture, there's so much to explore. Exquisite chateaus, quaint towns, ancient ruins and intriguing museums; plus two vibrant weekly markets taking place place year-round, one week won't be sufficient to experience it all. In order to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful destination, having a car is absolutely essential. While our nearest town is only a brief 10-minute drive away, there are no shops or restaurants closer, which adds to the unique charm of this location.
