The owner Janelle is from Australia. Janelle has a background in hotel management with experience as the event manager for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and as general manager of a 250 room hotel in Sydney. Her passion is for scouring brocantes and vide greniers to find beautiful items to decorate the house. Her other interest is attending events with the local wine club to sample the amazing wines of the region. She has had a house in Caunes-Minervois since 2017 and moved permanently in 2021 as she grew to love the village so much she made it her home. Also enjoying the house is her friendly groodle Max. Janelle is also the author of Call of the Night Parrot a mystery novel based in Australia and Caunes-Minervois, she can show you the places mentioned in the book!

L’Ancienne Boulangerie chambre d’hôtes was once the bakery for the Abbey of Caunes-Minervois, a medieval village in the south of France. Located in an area of natural beauty with vineyards, sunflowers and sunshine, the Canal du Midi and nearby Carcassonne. This is part of France that still retains its rural feel. There are six restaurants/bars in the village and many more in the surrounding area. The village is at the base of the black mountains which is literally a ten minute walk from the house with its outstanding views and nature. The beach is just under an hour away with miles of sand and never crowded in the height of the summer. You can also visit the cities of Beziers and Narbonne in less than an hour. The new indoor and outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers in the next village is perfect for that cooling dip.
