Welcome to the 'La Croix Douillet' which is set in the idyllic Normandy countryside with beautiful views over the valley of Gavray. The cottage has been lovingly renovated with lots of charm and character, the light filled interior is open beamed throughout with an open plan kitchen, which has everything to need for the perfect stay. The lounge has a light and airy feel with comfortable seating for four people. There's an open fireplace to cuddle up in front of or watch Netflix or Amazon Prime on the TV, you can even cook your dinner on the fire if you want. Relax and watch the idyllic rural view through the large glazed door leading onto the beautiful covered decking area with bbq and comfy seating to relax and enjoy your holidays. There are gardens games for those summer nights and swings for the little ones.

We have lived in france for 19 years and thoroughly love our life in the beautiful normandy countryside. We get great satisfaction from hosting guests from all over the world and get pleasure from meeting people from all walks of life. Philip was a builder in England and in France and I taught English to French students helping them to perfect their English language skills. We enjoy walking with our two chocomate Labradors arounf the area and the coutryside, our dogs love the beach too.

The house is set in rural normandy in the heart of the beautiful countryside, it's quiet and peaceful and offers a relaxing stay overlooking the valley of Gavray. There is so much to see and do in the area, you can visit the Mont st Michel, D Day beaches, the fishing town of Granville, Abbey de Hambye. There are two markets a week in Gavray which is less than 2 minutes drive or if you fancy you can walk it in 5 minutes, there's a big supermarket, pizza shop, kebab shop, and restaurants on your doorstep. You can visit the Chateau de Gavray which is steeped in history, and is a beautiful walk. There is Champrepus zoo, lots of beaches, bowling, lazergame, karting and much more for the little ones. In Granville the fishing port is a must to visit with lots of fantastic restaurants offering fresh seafoods caught daily and some fantastic french cusine. If you interested in history the D DAY landing beaches and museums are a must when staying in the Normandy region.
