From Norfolk in the UK to the Charente Maritime has been the most wonderful journey for us. We choose our 225 year old building after looking at quite a few over the course of a month of being based in the area. We loved it's unspoilt typical Charentaise feel with it's beautiful stone & huge oak beams overhead. The whole project (including painstakingly restoring our own house) has taken 3 years of hard graft. We hope that now it's all finished that you too find it as stunning as we do every single morning that we open up our shutters. What other small gite complex offers their guests a fantastic large heated pool, a specialised heated children's pool, 6 seat hot tub, 30mtr zip wire for all ages & a huge Pirate boat for hours of fun. We were a hard working couple (now a family of 4) that wanted to change our pretty average life. So we sold up in the UK in 2004 & made plans to run a gite business in Sunny France. For us & our 2 girls this life change has given us a all that we would have asked for as a family, plenty of time together in a safe, beautiful area & an opportunity to travel around Europe which we do as much as we can.

We are set in the Saintes, Cognac & St Jean d'Angely ' golden triangle'. Easy driving distance to the beautiful La Rochelle, Royan with it's many sandy beaches & our 2 Islands just of the coast (linked by bridges) Ile de Re & Ile d'Oleron. Both stunning & both very different.
