We are Robin, Joanne, Edward and Leah and we look forward to welcoming you to La Ruche, Chaillac. After many years of holidaying in France, we took the next step and were delighted to be able to buy our own house here. It has been a very exciting move and with our children in the local school we have quickly become part of this happy and friendly community. Since 2015 we have worked hard to renovate our beautiful home, creating five large en-suite bedrooms ready to welcome our guests from July 2016 offering you a warm, comfortable and friendly place to stay. We have 2 small French bulldogs who will be happy to welcome you. Unfortunately other animals are not allowed at La Ruche.

Robin and Joanne warmly welcome you to La Ruche, in Chaillac, Central France. La Ruche is a traditional house in the Indre region which was originally built for the village Doctor in the 1800’s. This explains why it is such a grand house sitting in a prominent position in the pretty village square. In its time it has also been the village ‘charcuterie’, but from 2016 is now a spacious and beautifully renovated guest house offering you comfortable accommodation and a friendly, relaxing stay. Open all year round, we offer 5 comfortable and traditionally furnished en-suite bedrooms with Double, King and Twin rooms available. Breakfast is avaiable at the property - payable on site. Perfect for a week, overnight stay, or stopover en route between northern France and the Mediterranean, Chaillac is perfectly situated just a short drive from the A20 motorway and close to airports at Limoges, Chateauroux and Poitiers.

A popular destination for visitors, Chaillac is a family friendly village in an unspoiled area of France with numerous attractions, lakes, forests and beautiful countryside including the stunning nature rich Brenne National Park, all close by. There are many pretty medieval and market towns to discover locally including the beautiful St Benoit du Sault, Argenton-sur-Creuse, Montmorillon, La Souterraine and Chauvigny and the beautiful Chateau Guillaume is also just a short drive away and open to the public. In Chaillac itself we have all you need for your break. Thanks to our village square location, parking is free outside La Ruche and we are only a few steps away from two small and friendly bars, a boulangerie, coiffeur, small supermarket and pharmacy. La Ruche is just a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful Lac de Rochegaudon, perfect for walking, fishing and cycling. Summer is excellent at the lake and provides lots of opportunity for family fun with the beach and play area, life-guarded waterslide, restaurant and beach bar open daily. The lake also hosts a huge firework display each summer as well as many other events across the year.
