Our charming Bed & Breakfast is located in an old farm building, in the half-timbered Champenoise style that is typical of the region around one of Europe's largest artificial lakes, Lac du Der. With its lovely green courtyard and a view of the country side or garden from the rooms, this is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. The rooms are fresh while maintaining the traditional style of the building, and all have their own private bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet. A copious breakfast including freshly baked bread, home-made jams and other delicacies is included in the price. The communal kitchen with its inviting wooden terrace is at your disposal if you want to make yourself something to eat at lunchtime or in the evening. There is free wifi in the bedrooms and free public parking in front of the property. Motorbikes and bicycles can be parked in one of the barns inside the courtyard. We are an international family (Dutch/French/English) with years of experience in the hospitality industry. Having recently bought this charming Bed & Breakfast, we look forward to welcoming you and telling you all about the wonderful things that this beautiful part of France has to offer.

The centre of the charming village of Montier en Der is at walking distance (1.2 km). The village offers two restaurants, one fast-food establishment and very nice bar, as well as several supermarkets. The lake-side village of Giffaumont, at only 10 minutes distance by car, offers various other restaurants, as well as water sports facilities, bicycle and boat hire. The lake (Lac du Der) has a cycling path all around it, and offers various beaches, as well as a climbing park (in Giffaumont) and waterpark (in Ste. Marie du Lac). In October and November, Lac du Der is the perfect place to spot thousands of common cranes at sunrise and sunset, simply from the dike at Giffaumont or at the various bird observatories around the lake. During the day, these wonderful migratory birds can also be spotted in the sky above and fields all around our Bed&Breakfast. An impressive sight not to be missed!
