Le Balcon Bleu is attractively decorated in the style of a boutique hotel. It is modern, with all of the facilities guests require to make their stay comfortable and practical. There is high speed fibre wifi and an office space should you need to work remotely. There is internet tv with 169 channels. Modern, good quality interior and exterior furniture ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. New household white goods, laundry equipment and a full range of cooking and dining provisions for both exterior and interior dining mean that all eventualities for holiday entertaining are met. Its modern interior and facilities , coupled with a tranquil and rural setting surrounded by lakes, beaches, mountains, forest trails, golf courses and unspoilt countryside - all within striking distance of the centres of Limoges, Clermont Ferrand and Brive - make this an ideal location for those wanting to decompress, partake in outdoor sports and leisure pursuits or simply explore the area. We provide exterior parking and garaged parking for bicycles and motorcycles. Dogs (max 2) are allowed at a cost of between 10 and 50 euros per week dependent upon the number of nights stayed. Cats are not allowed. A cleaning fee of 20 euros is charged. Shopping may be done upon request. This will be charged at 25 euros + groceries. Additional fees are to be paid in cash upon arrival. Heating is produced using wood. Electricity is supplied at 15 units per 24 hour period. One couple would usually use between 5-12 units. Between 3-6 people will be supplied with 20 units. Any supplemental usage will be charged at 0.24 cts per unit. This will be paid directly to the owner in cash prior to the guest leaving.

Lucy and Simon warmly welcome you to Le Balcon Bleu. We first came to the Haute Correze in 2006, drawn by the unspoilt beauty of the area. In 2014, we went to Dubai to fulfil work contracts. We returned to this haven of peace and tranquility in 2020 and bought this property to renovate and launch as a gite, something we had dreamed of doing while in the United Arab Emirates. We have tried to plan it as somewhere we would like to stay ourselves, as keen cani-hikers, mountain bikers, motorcyclists, quad riders and generally outdoorsy people. We hope that you will find it comfortable after a day out pursuing any of these, or just after a day exploring the area or visiting family or friends.

Le Balcon Bleu is located in the tranquil village of Chavanac, in the Parc National Regional de Millevaches. It is a protected area of outstanding beauty known for its rare flora and fauna. Surrounded by miles of forestry, trails and country lanes, this is the perfect place for hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling and road cycling. You can quite simply walk out of the front door and you can start a route. The French lake district, the area has numerous lakes with beaches for sunbathing, swimming, water sports and fishing, all in close proximity to the gite. Cross country skiing routes are open in winter and we are within easy reach of Super Besse and La Bourboule. Historic villages, towns and architecture abound throughout the area and it is culturally rich with the Centre d'Art Contemporain in Meymac, the Ruines des Cars, the village of Cledat and many Roman Gallic sites. The market towns of Meymac, Eymoutiers and Bugeat are easily accessible for shopping, bars, restaurants and outdoor markets and have a range of bespoke shops. The cities of Limoges, Brive and Clermont Ferrand are within an hour's drive and offer superb retail therapy, cafes and restaurants.
