Welcome to Maison La Roche! This cute two bedroom two shower room stone cottage is situated just over the River Vienne from L'Isle Jourdain in a quiet location but within handy walking distance to amenities, restaurants and bars. The well equipped kitchen diner comes with a Nespresso coffee machine, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and has seating for four. The living room contains a large LCD TV with UK Satelite TV and French free TV. There is a downstairs double bedroom and an upstairs a larger room which has a Kingsize bed and en-suite shower room. Quality Linens and towels are provided and included in price. There is wifi available throughout the property. There is also a shower room and toilet downstairs so ideal for people with mobility issues, all bathrooms are equipped with hand soap and shower gel. Outside the property to the right of the front door there is a charming seating area which catches the sun for most of the day. Across the quiet residents lane to the fully fenced orchard garden with Heated Plunge Pool(open and heated from mid May until end of September or not unless the ambient outdoor temperature is less than 20 degrees Celsius), there are sun loungers and a shaded dining area with a view towards the river and the Barrage La Roche. The orchard garden is a fabulous place to relax and enjoy.

Jamshid and Jo are on hand at all times as we are staying in the attached barn. We are happy to help you with information re local events or restaurants etc that may be on during your visit. Jamshid and Jo enjoy the French lifestyle very much and we find this area to be one of the friendliest in France. We are learning the French language but still have a way to go. Our aim is to ensure you have a fabulous stay whilst respecting your privacy. We have a small friendly dog "Amber" so as dog lovers we do welcome friendly and well behaved Dogs(extra charge 20 euros per dog is payable). Please inform us if you are thinking of bringing your dog before arrival. We ask that dogs are not left alone for long periods (more than a couple of hours) in the property.

The communities of L'Isle Jourdain and Le Vigeant are separated by the River Vienne which is joined by the magnificent 19th century Viaduct across the river. The Viaduct is part of the old railway and a wonderful walking/biking path with breathtaking photo opportunities throughout the year. There is bungey jumping from the Viaduct during the warmer months for the more adventurous and zip lines across the river with adventure climbing courses amongst the trees. Community pool, Water skiing along the river, fishing, kayaking nearby and many other activities. For racing enthusiasts there is the 2nd largest racing venue in France "Circuit du Val de Vienne" in Le Vigeant 4m from the Gite. We have various restaurants and bars within 1km of the Gite including the wonderful new 2022 Reflets de la Vienne Restaurant, Cafe and Bar which is situated on the Riverside with a view towards the spectacular Viaduct and open every day. We also have L'hotel Viaduc for Pizzas and Hamburgers within 200 metres of the gite and La Barrage Restaurant also 200 metres from the Gite for wonderful French lunches on the river. Across the River in L'isle Jourdain there are a couple of other cafes.
