The name "Lézardière" comes from the French word "lizard". And there are many lizards here, hiding along around our 19th century farm. But in French, "to lizard" is also actually a verb, which describes the way old walls sometimes crack, here and there. Just like our faces when we grow old. Lastly, "lézarder" can also mean "to be lazy in the sun", which is exactly what you can enjoy at la Lézardière: a place to quiet down, contemplate, laze around, but also, create. Our 19th century farmhouse is set on a 5300 square meter property surrounded by fields and orchards. Nobody can see you out here, except butterflies. The place is swarming with flowers.The two houses are adjoining, but completely independant: car accesses, and entrances are on opposite sides. The old barn was turned into an Art Studio. Everything you need for babies and children, including a nice swing in your private garden. But the pool is the best part: feels like you are swimming in the wilderness! And the best part probably: a big outdoor pool that makes you feel like you are completely isolated and in the wild.

We are a French-American couple. Mark is a painter from California. Séverine writes and teaches French Literature and Philosophy at University level. The 3 and 11 year old children are both bilingual. We met our house completely by chance. And we strongly believe in encouters. We believe in what American people call "Serendipity", very close to what the Ancient Greeks used to call "Kairos: the magical moment where everything somehow clicks and falls into place, so that a perfect instant happens. This is what we cultivate here, at La Lézardière. Language spoken: French, English, German and Chinese

Although you will be a 5mn drive from the very charming old city center, you will feel here like you are miles from the city. If you want peace, no neighbours, and nature, while still enjoying the commodities of urban life, restaurants, cinemas, theater, markets, shops, sports, playgrounds for children, and so on, La Lézardière is definitely for you.
