My house is on a small working croft which is a minutes drive to one of the local hotels, two minutes to a second hotel and three minutes to the closest shop. All 3 guest rooms are located upstairs on the first floor. We have a shared open plan guest kitchen and lounge. The house is in a perfect location to explore all the islands in Uist, being only 50 minutes drive to Berneray to the North and Eriskay to the South from where the Isle of Barra is only a 40 minute ferry journey allowing for a day trip over and all from the one handy central base in Benbecula.
I like going for a walk in the moor or hills to get the chance to see some of the wonderful wildlife Uist has to offer. When conditions are right I go down to the beach with my kite and buggy and enjoy the freedom that's on offer.
I'm a minutes drive away from the beach and when I get a chance I go down for a walk. If I get the timings right, I'll see the seals and if I'm really lucky I'll catch sight of an otter :-)
