Nestling alongside the River Aire in the pretty Yorkshire Dales village of Airton sits the old Airton Mill which is now a series of gorgeous converted apartments. No 16 Riverside Walk is a well presented 1st floor, 2 storey, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, self-catering apartment, forming part of a the grade ll listed building. Free parking for 1 car. There is a communal garden/picnic area in the grounds of the mill. The apartment is not suitable for anyone with impaired mobility. Please read the about the host section before booking. Over 2 floors, the apartment offers accommodation for 2-4 people and provides an excellent base for many stunning walks and cycle rides. Conveniently, The Pennine Way/ Dales Way passes the front of the mill along the river. The loft features a Super King size bed which can be separated to create two single beds if required. There is also a small single top bunk bed that has been crafted to incorporate the loft beams. The loft room also includes an ensuite with large walk in shower. The first floor includes a bedroom featuring a King Size bed and views of the river below. This floor further includes a bathroom with shower and small bath, a stylish living room with enough seating for 4 people and a well equipped kitchen diner. The apartment comes with its own free WiFi and Netflix. Guests can also enjoy a free Yorkshire welcome basket on arrival.
Please note before booking…Airton mill is not a holiday complex. Some of the apartments are home to a number of permanent residents, some of which are underneath and next to our apartment. We respectfully ask all guests are aware of their noise levels and consider our neighbours when moving around the apartment. As with all apartments a minimal amount of noise can be heard from our elderly neighbours. We also ask all guests to be considerate when using the outside areas. Strictly maximum 4 people occupancy when booking on this platform and no guests under 8 years old. Although babies are welcome. You will be staying in someone’s home so please use the apartment with care and respect; Any guests who treat the apartment otherwise will be reported. Any damage by guests will be reported and compensation sought. No visitors in the property only guests staying. No loud music or parties of any kind. No pets allowed. No cycles allowed in the property. The apartment is a holiday let only and not to be booked and used as a primary residence. Please be aware the apartment is NOT in central Malham it is in Malhamdale. Malham is 2 miles away. Airton is a small village with a farm shop and licensed tea rooms (closed Mondays unless a bank holiday) however it does not have a pub and obviously has limited amenities. If you are looking for a location which has lots of different amenities restaurants and pubs then you are advised not to book this apartment. However if you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet village with great walks then Airton is the perfect location. The apartment may not be suitable for anyone with impaired mobility due to a steep staircase that leads to the first floor. There is another steep staircase leading to the loft bedroom. If you struggle using a steep staircase or do not want to stay in a property where there are steep staircases then this property might not be for you. There is currently no tv in the loft bedroom
Airton has its own farm shop and tea rooms, Townend, which was the location for the BBC2 show Top of the Shop featuring chef Tom Kerridge. The village is ideally situated in close proximity to the popular market towns of Skipton and Settle Only 2 miles walk from Airton along the dales way, Malham is the jewel in the Yorkshire Dales crown. You’ll find some of the most dramatic limestone scenery here, covered by TV programmes featuring adventurer Bear Grylls and Julia Bradbury. Grassington the home of the fictional town of Darrowby in All Creatures Great and Small is only 9 miles away. It is advised you have access to a vehicle at all times. Taxis can be expensive and not always readily available. There is 1 parking space available per stay. If guests arrive in more than 1 car then free parking can be found by the bridge. There is no or limited signal in the apartment. We highlight the best places to get a signal in our guest information folder. You can access Wi-Fi calling if your mobile permits.
