Paul
Welcome to Cherry Cottage; a cosy and secluded three bedroom 18th Century smuggler's cottage with a huge garden in the heart of the idyllic Ashdown Forest, home of Winnie the Pooh! Wake up to the dawn chorus and fall asleep to the hoots of owls. In between times, there's loads to do - 3,500 acres of woods, heathland and streams to explore from your doorstep. All of "Pooh Country", indeed! London is an hour away by train, likewise the seaside at Eastbourne, Bexhill, Beachy Head, etc by car.
We live very close by, so we're always on hand to assist if needed. We will either meet you on arrival or leave the keys out for you and catch up with you at the earliest opportunity. We'll also check you out again on your departure day if you wish.
Really quiet and secluded rural location, well away from any main roads! Located down a private track. Private off-road parking for two cars and secure bicycle storage. Really you need a car to get around the local area as the nearest bus stop is at Crowborough Cross (1.3 miles up the hill) and the nearest railway stations are Eridge (4 miles) and Crowborough (3 miles), with direct mainline trains to London Bridge. Eridge also has weekend steam trains that run to Groombridge and Tunbridge Wells. Tunbridge Wells is 20 minutes away by car, although there is also a good, regular bus service from Crowborough Cross. Similarly buses to Lewes, Brighton, etc.
