A renovated, stylish, self contained, barn conversion including all modern commodities, tucked away in a conservation area, the historic village of Old Hatfield. It is a 2 minute walk to Hatfield train station (21 mins to Kings Cross), local pubs and Hatfield House - ideal for business, leisure users and visitors to the University of Hertfordshire. Please note the Barn is self contained with its own front door but it is situated in our garden (we have a very friendly dog)! Please note the barn is on our property & is independently accessed by its own front door away from the house. There is a small courtyard area which you are welcome to use along with a washing line for your use.
I have always loved to travel and still try to get away as much as I can. With a family this isn't always easy although we all spent a very happy few years living in Copenhagen! We will aim to leave you in peace to enjoy your stay at the bottom of our garden but will be more than happy to point you in the right direction if you need any assistance. A telephone number will be left for you to contact us at any reasonable hour during your stay. We will no doubt meet you too, if only in passing and would be very happy to chat and give you local information that will help you enjoy your stay. Otherwise we tend to let you enjoy the barn as your own, which is what most people seem to want!
We live in the quiet and historic area of Old Hatfield. Hatfield House is open to visitors from April - September and run lots of events through the season. We also are lucky enough to have 2 traditional, local pubs that serve food (varying times) and real ale. The Red Lion pub is also walking distance and serves food every day and evening. We are a 10 minute drive to Welwyn Garden City and approx 15 mins to the beautiful city of St Albans. We are a 2 minute walk to Hatfield train station and lucky enough to be on the fast line to London. Trains are frequent to London (20 mins to Finsbury Park/Kings Cross), Gatwick, Brighton Cambridge and Peterborough. Plenty of buses and taxi's can be taken from the station too.
