Westerlands is Set in the South Downs National Park, on a quiet farm, this beautiful self built yurt, makes it a peaceful spot for a romantic getaway. Impressive views of the South Downs from the accommodation make this a stunning setting, with plenty of gorgeous woodland walks close by, as well as links to the South Downs Way and several lovely local pubs nearby. We now also offer horse riding, sauna, yoga, massage & reflexology, so why not treat yourself?
Facilities: The yurt has a king size bed and 3 extra single beds, made up if you need, which are x2 fold up camp beds and 1x mattress on the floor (Note the single beds are very simple which I would say is not a luxury for adults but for children should not be a problem :) Bedding and towels are provided (but please let me know if you need extra beds) There is no electricity, so you are completely off grid but if you need to charge phones and laptops just let me know and we can sort out for you. There is a compost toilet and outdoor shower nearby (30 metres away) but there is a flushing toilet with shower in the main house that is available to use throughout the year. This is approximately 1 min walk away from the yurt. (There is a map provided inside the yurt to indicate where everything is)
Although the bathroom is shared, it’s not the main bathroom for the house and is very rarely used by others, the only people it is likely to be used by are other airbnb guests from my shepherd hut.
The yurt is also situated close to our new 2024 WildSpa which includes a sauna, plunge pool and outdoor shower.
The yurt has a basic kitchenette area inside with a single gas burner, fresh drinking water outside with the tap provided, a kettle, cooking pot, frying pan, plates, bowls, cutlery. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper & cooking oil are also available. There is a fire bowl provided outside to make a fire or cook food on. (Fire logs and kindling are provided to make one or two fires and if you need more we sell firewood)
Hi my name is Emma :)
Westerlands farm is where I grew up , so its my family farm which I love very much! I used to be carpenter so every accommodation situated here, the yurt, shepherd hut and cabin I built and decided to make them into places for people to stay, as I too enjoyed living in each one in different stages of my life. I hope you will enjoy it too! Westerlands feels very cut of from the busy world outside, there is a lot of open space and amazing views of the South Downs. I always feel very free here and instantly relaxed. Hence why my sisters and I have still not flown the nest ! Instead we work together to make this place almost a retreat for others to enjoy nature, and the wonderful activities you can do here i.e horse riding, walking or renting an electric bike to explore further afield though the idyllic quiet countryside. There is also excellent pubs nearby, some within walking distance and beautiful old historical towns close by to explore.
