Cartref Guesthouse is a privately run guesthouse in a grand edwardian residence that was fully renovated and completed in 2024. The building was constructed in 1910 and was originally a gentleman's residence, becoming the village Dr's surgery in the 1930's and a guesthouse in the 1950's. The renovation of the property has sought to modernise the facilities and restore original features. Guests can now relax in our well-appointed ensuite rooms with fast wi-fi and modern facilities whilst enjoying the period charm of a grand Edwardian house. The guest common room provides Fridge, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle and 55" SMART TV together with ample crockery, cutlery, tables and seating. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. The owners come from the local area and are Welsh speakers. We enjoy chatting with our guests and can provide you with a wealth of local knowledge about things to see and do in the area. Aberdyfi is an unspoilt seaside village at the southern tip of Snowdonia National Park with 4 miles of sandy beach and rolling sand dunes. Renowned as 'Where the mountains meet the sea', Aberdyfi has a wealth of boutique shops and great places to eat and drink. The Guesthouse is a 3 minute walk from the beach and 5 minute walk to Aberdyfi village centre. The acclaimed 18-hole golf course is within 5 minutes walk on the flat (making it easy for guests to transport their equipment to the course); the golf course can be seen from the front of the house. Amongst the many other amenities available are the recreation field (for football and other sports) and bowling green which are both across the road from the property. Cartref Guesthouse is well-served by transport with a bus stop within a stone’s throw of the property and the train station within 3 minutes walk, both offering regular services towards either Machynlleth or Tywyn.
