For walking, the Peddars Way is an ancient Roman path stretching for 46 miles, which begins in Thetford, South Norfolk and travels northwards to the coast near Holme-next-the-Sea. The path enters Castle Acre at the foot of Bailey Street and continues through the village and beyond, to the border of the beautiful village of Great Massingham, a distance of approximately four miles. Signs and boards indicate where these fields are, with some near to the Priory and others in the east of the parish.
