Many walks, Hodbarrow RSPB reserve and even cable tow water skiing (in season) are on your doorstep. There is a horse riding centre 3½ miles away with hill and beach riding available for all ages and abilities. Sea fishing from the beach at Silecroft is only 4½ miles to the north. Muncaster Castle with its gardens and Bird of Prey Centre or a trip on Ravenglass Steam train (dogs welcome) into the heart of the Lake District make good days out.
