Hi, I am Alexandra, founder of Energise Property together with my husband Ian, proud owners of the highly rated Bluebird Cottage, Pickering. I am am an outdoor fan, I really enjoy outdoor swimming and hiking across the moors, in all weathers. I love Yorkshire and all three children were born and bred here. We currently live in Lincolnshire, but miss the hills!. I am also an avid equestrian and love horses and our 3 dogs.

Our historic 18th century listed cottage is the perfect place to spend some time away. Couples love the central location, log burner, beamed ceilings, window seats, shuttered windows and cosy interior. Families love the two large bedrooms - with the attic room being available as a super king or twin beds - fully equipped kitchen, secure enclosed courtyard garden & using the cottage as a base to visit the area. We have strong fast wi-fi (usually 64mbps) - perfect for streaming films or working. There are 4k smart TVs in the front room and main bedroom with a smart TV in the attic room. Our fully equipped kitchen has a dining table to seat 4. The kitchen has an oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge with an ice box, coffee machine and microwave. We provide a smart speaker so you can listen to music or podcasts. The bathroom is on the middle floor with a large walk in shower. The secure courtyard garden has a covered seating area and table and chairs. There is a washing line, as well as a washing machine and dryer.

Bluebird Cottage is in the centre of this historic market town on the edge of the North Yorks Moors. It is in easy walking distance of independent pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and take-aways. We are also in easy walking distance of Kirk theatre. You can walk to Pickering Beck, Pickering Castle or the historic steam railway station within 5 minutes, and can quickly be in open countryside. Pickering is the gateway town to the North Yorks Moors National Park. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists all year round. Pickering is famous for its medieval castle, its church with the most complete medieval walls paintings in Britain and it is the home of the North Yorkshire Moors National Railway. A trip to Whitby in a vintage carriage pulled by a steam engine through the dramatic moors countryside is not to be missed. Dalby Forest is 6 miles away with its walking and cycling trails, play areas, BBQ and picnic sites, bike hire and the Go Ape Tree top adventure attraction. Flamingo Land with its zoo and theme park is 4 miles away. We are also close to historic York, and food lovers will want to visit Malton – Yorkshire’s food capital – just 15 mins away.
