The cottage occupies a stunning hillside location above Staffin Bay. Situated in the crofting village of Staffin just 25 minutes from Portree, Driftwood Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the Trotternish Peninsula and the whole of Skye. The kitchen-dining room is a real treat. We have a large solid oak table next to a large floor to Ceiling window & patio door - which of course looks onto staffin bay. The sun shines directly into the kitchen most mornings from about March thru to October and in the winter the stanley rayburn makes it really cozy & warm. The Cottage is equipped with free wireless superfast fibre broadband and a telephone for local calls. There is a strong mobile phone signal from most rooms.

We moved to Skye in 2010 and lived in Driftwood cottage for 6 years. We knew we might outgrow this house before we bought it, but we really couldnt resist the view it had. We have made many improvements to the house over the last 8 years both inside & outside and are really proud of it. Due to an expanding family we outgrew our much loved home and reluctantly moved to a larger house just a mile away. Whilst we now have more space we unfortunatley don't have the same spectacular view that Driftwood cottage has. After many friends and family telling us it would make a fantastic holiday cottage we have been receiving guests since April 2017.

Staffin village is a living working village with a school, post office, 2 well stocked shops, 5 cafe's & 2 restaurants. For anything extra Portree is only a 25 minute drive and has many more restaurants, cafes’, a large supermarket and various boat trips. There is also the town of UIG which is also just a 25 minute drive which has 3 restaurants and ferries to the Outer Hebrides.
