A traditional stone quaint cottage with electric radiators and wood burning stove. First basket of logs for the stove is supplied. The reception room, Kitchen and bathroom is on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. Other things to note As the cottage has original flooring I recommend bringing slippers or loungewear shoes for comfort. Situated 1.8 miles from Blackgang Chine, a great day out for the family, it is famous for being the oldest amusement park in the UK. Military road is a short drive and has some of the most breath-taking views, the coastal and country walks in this area are stunning. There are beautiful walks over St Catherine’s down located near St Catherine’s Point, the southernmost point on the island. The Down rises to 240 metres at its highest point, between the village of Niton and Chale The resident pub in Chale is the White Mouse inn (approximately 1.5 miles), it has a large outdoor area with spectacular sea views and delicious pub food. There are plenty of beaches to choose from, head to Compton Bay and you will find one of the island’s best kept secrets. Two miles of beautiful, golden and dark sands. And if you are lucky, you may even find a fossil! Freshwater bay is a shingle with sand below the water line. Smugglers once used the surrounding caves at the bottom of the chalk cliffs.
