Thank you for booking Fara self-contained 2-room B&B suite in Kirkwall, Orkney. Please note, this is a private, 2-room suite with 1 double bedroom and a separate, attached sitting room. We are a family bed and breakfast only business, located on the outskirts of Kirkwall with a slightly elevated position, and wonderful sea views towards the northern isles, St Magnus Cathedral and the Kirkwall Bay Area. You will have SOLE/ PRIVATE use of the suite (with your own private entrance and door key) which comprises a large lounge with TV/DVD/Books/Sofa, a small kitchen area with table, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster. A self service continental breakfast (NOT a cooked breakfast) will be provided, consisting of toast/bread, choice of cereal, yogurt, cheese, fruit, croissants, jam, marmalade, orange juice, oatcakes and biscuits. This will be in your room on arrival and replenished as and when, during your stay with us. Utensils and crockery will be provided. A separate double bedroom with an en-suite shower, toilet, and wash basin. Complimentary shower gel, soap, and towels are included in the price. Externally, there is private parking, sitting area and garden. It is suitable for 2 guests. No children or pets allowed. Our property is strictly non-smoking. We are bed and breakfast only and DO NOT offer full self-catering facilities although there is a laundry in central Kirkwall. Entry is strictly from 4 pm and departure up to 11am. This room is not suitable for those with mobility impairment, and there is a strict quiet time between 11pm and 7am.

Please book car rental / bike rental / inter island ferry or plane transport and any restaurant meals etc... well in advance in high season. No storage for bicycles and no camper vans or buses allowed on the estate where we live. Weather can be unpredictable. Please ensure adequate travel insurance.

Fara is a ten-minute walk or 2-minute drive into the heart of Kirkwall, with restaurants, shops, food stores, music venues, pubs, public transport Kirkwall harbour (your gateway to Orkney's outer isles), and the beautiful St Magnus Cathedral. A twenty-minute drive to the heart of Orkney's world heritage sites, featuring the Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe, Skara Brae and the Standing Stones of Stenness. A 25-minute drive to the historic town of Stromness. We have two beaches within a few minutes drive from our property too. Highland Park Distillery is a 2-minute drive away.
