Hallgreen castle is an genuine 14th century castle, with many original features. The building is old and quirky with lots of character. The castle is for those looking for something different and not something out of the corporate box. It is a good base to explore the local area. For those interested in old castles we have a guided tour for guests around the castle, and at the same time relaying what we know of the castles history and place in the local community. We are also close to Dunnotar castle (which in my opinion is the best ruined castle in Scotland), and is well worth a visit. Inverbervie is a traditional small coastal village within easy travelling distance of both Aberdeen and Dundee. There are the usual local services in the village as well as plenty of local walks. If you are looking for a quite country stay this is probably the place for you - not so much if you want a rowdy nightlife. There are several really good restaurants and tea rooms locally within walking distance or a short drive.
