Heartwood is very special in that it offers the peace and tranquility of a characterful country home within an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet it sits on the edge of the pretty village of Ticehurst, with all of the amenities that this provides within just a few minutes' walk. We love our home and we hope that you will, too! With quality linen and towels, we aim to provide that home from home experience. We put together a basket of local produce to welcome you, however long you are staying, and can service your rooms each day so that you don't have to (although we will respect your choice should you wish to do this yourself). As the suite is within the confines of the barn, please expect a little overhead noise - while there is soundproofing installed, you can hear footfall. It IS an old barn, and as such, behaves like one! We do our utmost to tippy toe! Our guests can sit by the lake, or enjoy the garden with its rural views. There is a patio area with barbecue and firepit for summer evenings and a first-class pub and restaurant a few minutes' stroll away.

As a family, we are classic car enthusiasts. While we don't anticipate many of our guests will share our passion, we provide off-road parking as well as secure parking for anyone wishing to bring their own pride and joy!

Ticehurst is a pretty village set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is therefore a wealth of wonderful walks locally and some beautiful scenery to enjoy. We are fortunate in having many treasured houses and famous gardens in the area, as well as castles, such as Bodium, Hurstmonceux and Scotney. We are close to Pashley Manor, Sissinghurst and Great Dixter, with Charleston, Glynde Place and Batemans a short drive away. But with all of this wonderful countryside, we are only eight miles from the lovely town of Tunbridge Wells, and an hour by rail from London from our local station. There are many really superb restaurants in the near vicinity, too! The Bell 'Apparently' in Ticehurst is renowned for its superb food and it quirkiness, and is only a short walk away from Heartwood. However, there are many more just a short drive away, so whether Italian, Indian, Chinese or Fish is your dish, you can be assured of eating well!
