NB. Please be aware their are extra charges for the hire of the hot tub and a full Scottish breakfast. Clunie is a delightful cottage just on the outskirts of the famous town of Dumfries. We thoroughly enjoy welcoming guests in to our home, and happily provide information on whats going on and places to visit. The 7 stanes cycling route is just 20 minutes away, stunning beaches 20 mins away, Mabie forest with toilets and cafe. Numerous circular walks, both on the doorstep and further a field, with plenty of variety to suit all ages, aptitudes and levels of fitness, the Southern Upland Way is a stunning route, and is the only national trail in the region, that begins its 212 mile journey across Scotland on the west coast of Galloway. Others use hills, coastal, lochside and riverside paths and the many forest trails, all on our door step. Like the other west facing peninsulas of Britain - Cormwall, Wales, Cumbria - Dumfries and Galloway has a generally milder climate, some of the best times of year to visit these regions are April-June, but walking here is a joy at all times of the year. Places to look up are: Doach wood, Mull of Galloway, Water of River Ae riverside trail, Stroan and Mossdale Locks, Caerlavrock and the Solway Marshes, Wigtown famous book town, Lochmaben and the four Lochs, Fleet forest and Anworth old Kirk. Our visitors call Dumfries "the hidden gem" of Scotland.
Hi I have worked previously, in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. I have always wanted to start my own B&B but never had the opportunity. We bought Clunie in February 2019, she needed a lot of work done, everything has either been replaced or installed, so she is now a beautiful warm cozy home and ready to share with our guests. I love having people to stay and and I really enjoy making their visits special, I do an amazing cooked breakfast and the hot tub is very romantic (please contact me directly for charges on these facilities). Happy to assist my guests with any local amenities and activities. Enhanced Clean: Jacquie has committed to an enhanced cleaning protocol – a rigorous set of cleaning standards developed by gov. with leading health and hospitality experts for these times . Here’s what Jacquie has made a commitment to do before every stay: Sanitise surfaces- Sanitise every high-touch surface, down to the doorknob Use approved products Use cleaners approved by health experts, such as cleaning products with 70% alcohol or higher Thoroughly clean Clean room by room following our extensive cleaning checklists Wear a mask and gloves Help avoid cross-contamination.
10 minutes walk from Clunie is Kilnford farm shop. It has an amazing restaurant/ coffee shop and superb local produce. Alderneuk Trout Fishery is directly opposite with fishing from 8am to dusk. Dumfries is a market town and former royal burgh within the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland. It is located near the mouth of the River Nith into the Solway Firth. Dumfries is the traditional county town of the historic county of Dumfriesshire. Dumfries is nicknamed Queen of the South. The nickname has also given name to the town's professional football club. People from Dumfries are known colloquially in Scots language as Doonhamers. Getting around Dumfries royal infirmary is 5 minutes drive where this is a bus stop that will take you to where ever you would like to go. There are plenty of taxi as well. We can guide you as to places to visit as well.

Please note that If you are bringing an electric bike requiring charging the lithium battery on our premises, you will need to provide certification/ invoice detailing that you have purchased the battery from a reputable safety standard authorized supplier/ manufacturer, otherwise I do have the right to refuse charging facilities.

If acceptable we will supply electricity to your vehicle for charging, as it can not be charged inside the property advised by BA Guide-electric bike batteries-bicycleassociation.org.uk .
