Jakels Rest is situated in open countryside approximately a mile from the village of Lairg. It is a spacious self-contained annex attached to the main house. The property has been tastefully decorated and furnished in a way to make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. There is a dining area; kitchen with combination microwave, single induction hob, air fryer, slow cooker and an excellent range of crockery, utensils, etc; snug with door to the enclosed garden; wet room and large bedroom with king size bed. We are dog friendly and are happy to have up to two well behaved dogs to stay. We are also happy to welcome bikers and have facilities for motorcycle storage - ideal if it has been a dreich day! We have recently purchased a wheelchair ramp to assist any disabled guests getting up the two steps to the front door, once inside the property all of the accommodation is on one level.

Jakels Rest is ideally situated for access to all parts of the Highlands and Lairg is known as the crossroads of the north with access to beautiful countryside, beaches, historic places, mountains and munros, fishing, bird watching, walking, golf, distilleries, etc. There are some lovely walks close by and the village facilities include The Pier Cafe/Restaurant, Spar, Costcutter & Petrol Station, gift shop, pharmacy, Ferrycroft Visitor Centre and Information Point and the famous Wee Hoose located on Loch Shin. There is an abundance of local wildlife, Dalchork bird watching hide just outside the village and Loch Fleet nature reserve is approx 20 miles to the east.
