A monthly Farmer’s market where you can source fresh local produce from regional suppliers including a butchers, bakers, fishmonger, fruit and cheese stands. (Each third Saturday in a month, Market Square, 9am - 1pm) The 1300 year old Minster sits at the centre of this Georgian Market Town popular for its independent shops and eateries which hosts a large folk festival in June each year. Situated on the edge of Wimborne town, one of the largest model towns in England offers all weather fun days out for visitors of all ages. The beautiful gardens, tea room, shop and undercover attractions are on offer. Find the Tivoli Theatre where tradition of showing both films and live stage performances continue to entertain visitors. Moors Valley is a popular nearby Country Park with a Play Trail, narrow gauge steam railway, Go Ape, golf course, gift shop, and restaurant. The nearest beaches are at Bournemouth and Sandbanks, just a 25 minute drive away. Poole Harbour has excellent sailing and water sports, whereas the surfers amongst you will delight in the surf reef at Boscombe. Superb walks are in abundance with over 300 miles of well signed footpaths, bridleways and byways to explore all around Wimborne, Colehill, Broomhill and Holt Heath Nature Reserve. The Hardy Way and Stour Valley Way both pass through the town as does the Castlemain Cycle Route. Garden lovers and history seekers will be in their element with many National Trust properties and gardens to discover including Kingston Lacy, and the Iron Age Hillfort at Badbury Rings. A little further afield you can explore the New Forest, Isle of Purbeck and stunning Jurassic coastline.
