If you’re looking for a few days away from the hustle and bustle Kennick Barn is for you. We are surrounded by farm land and woods. Most of the time all we can hear are sheep and birdsong. Inside you’ll find a touch of luxury to make your stay special, your king size bed has a Tempur memory foam mattress and high thread count linen. The kitchen is fully equipped and there will be home-made bread and a basket of breakfast goods awaiting you. Please note this a diy breakfast so you can go at your own pace. The sitting-room is comfortable and cosy with a dining table and a TV with CD player. Outside is a table and chairs for al-fresco dining in our beautiful garden. There are a variety of walks from the house, you can walk round Tottiford and Trenchford reservoirs or up to Blackenstone Rock and though surrounding woodlands. Bridford our nearest village has a welcoming pub with delicious food and there are other pubs in the Teign valley each with its own special character. Moretonhampstead a delightful Dartmoor town is about three miles away as is Bovey Tracey, both towns offer a variety of independent shops and places to eat. The 365 square miles of Dartmoor National Park are yours to explore by car, bicycle or on foot. We look forward to welcoming you to our Dartmoor retreat.

We moved to Devon for a slower pace of life in 2017 and love to share our peaceful corner of Dartmoor national park with visitors. We have two cats, Millie and Tilly and hens who provide the delicious eggs you’ll find in your breakfast basket. We love our garden and our wild meadow area within which is a spiral labyrinth where guests can walk by arrangement. Saul is often to be found in his workshop or mowing and doing general maintenance. Hibly will be weeding, planting or harvesting vegetables and fruit to be made into delicious meals or preserves. Our life motto “Love each other, care for the planet and relax” We live in the house and are often around either in the house or in the garden and field. We are happy to chat and share a cuppa with guests. If you wish to order from Riverford for your stay the delivery is on Thursday. Tesco and Sainsburys will also deliver here. Walks round the reservoirs are a constant delight, changing daily with the seasons. There are no bright lights except the stars, the milky way is visible on clear nights. We are on the Dartmoor Way cycle route there is a local taxi in Christow other than this it’s a car or walking. Castle Drogo is about five miles away and there ar3 many other National properties within easy driving distance. Our favourite pub The Bridford Inn is a ten minute drive or an hour’s walk. Christow has a community shop which stocks fresh and frozen food, locally produced meat and bread. Moretonhampstead has a selection of pubs a co-op and an Italian pizza restaurant. Our guests love relaxing in the garden and exploring Dartmoor.
