Situated on the middle (first) floor of a Grade II listed townhouse with unrivalled views of the entrance to Alnwick Castle, it is away from the hustle and bustle of the main street, yet within easy reach of town centre. This fabulously quirky, romantic retreat is perfect for two and ideally placed for exploring the town, the castle and, indeed, the whole of Northumberland.

As well as having its own attractions - Alnwick Castle ('Hogwarts') and Gardens and Barter Books being the most famous - Alnwick is a perfect central hub for exploring Northumberland. Bamburgh Castle, Cragside House and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland Heritage Coast and Northumberland National Park are all easily accessible by car. The nearby Northumberland Coast AONB has some of the most unspoilt beaches in the country. There are frequent buses to the East Coast main line rail station at Alnmouth, from which you can get trains to Newcastle, Edinburgh, etc. The area is well served by buses up the coast via Alnmouth, Craster, Newton-by-the-Sea, Seahouses and Bamburgh, making day trips and walks in the Northumberland Coast AONB very convenient. There are also express buses to Newcastle. However, most visitors will prefer the convenience of a car allowing trips inland to the Northumberland National Park, Cragside, Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall and Newcastle (just under 45 minutes away). Free parking is available in residents' bays on Bailiffgate for which we provide a permit, and usually it is easy to park within 15-20m of the front door.
