Built in Autumn 2022, the Red Squirrel pod has been designed with all the modern facilities you would need. You walk up 6 steps from the car park into your own private gravelled garden with bird & squirrel feeders, step onto the decking area and you will see the lovely views of the ancient woodland in front of you. The perfect area to sit with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and relax. You enter the pod through two French doors which allow to to see the views from the inside. There’s a 32” smart tv with 149 freesat channels and internet to allow you access to your Netflix, Amazon etc accounts. Log onto the free wifi to check your emails or plan where to visit the following day. There’s a couple of leather relaxing chairs for watching the TV or reading a book. A well equipped kitchen has a microwave with grill, fridge with small freezer compartment, and full size sink. Please note we do not have an oven or hob. Why come on holiday and cook when there are lovely restaurants and take-aways all within walking distance. A dinning table and chairs give you somewhere to sit and eat and at the rear of the pod is a double bed with storage area beneath and a high quality mattress to allow you to drift into a relaxing sleep. There’s a separate shower room with electric shower, toilet, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. There’s a pair of binoculars to allow you to sit and watch the birds on the feeder up close and a range of books to read. Please note - The pod and gardens are strictly non smoking (including vape) we reserve the right to charge a deep clean charge should any guest smoke in the pod or gardens. By staying with us you confirm you agree to this charge.

We are Martin & Kirsty and we want to ensure you have a very relaxing time staying with us. You will be staying in the pod in a lovely area out the back of our property which is the old gardeners cottage for the Balmacaan estate and built in 1857. We started clearing the land for the pod in October 2021 & 11 months later we have put the finishing touches to it and have now welcomed our first guests. We have cats the like to roam the gardens and woods and they love coming to visit our guests.

Loch Ness Woodland Pods are on the edge of an ancient oak woodland near to the world famous Loch Ness. The perfect location for whatever your interests are. Sit on the decking with a coffee watching the buzzards and red kites over head, walk to Urquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness or wander through the woods on one of the many woodland walks right on your doorstep. You have everything you need in the area. The village of Drumnadrochit with its Monster exhibition centre and range of shops and cafes is a 15 min walk away. Fort William and Ben Nevis is just over an hour by car or catch the regular bus service. The Isle of Skye can be reached by car or bus in a little over an hour. We have a folder in the pod full of local attractions, wether it’s raining or sunshine there is always something to do. Ideally situated for exploring the Scottish Highlands and the amazing scenery in the area.
