Luxury Travel Emporium YO1 is an imposing three storey townhouse, superbly located on Micklegate in the very heart of the historic City of York, providing over 2700 sq.ft of luxuriously appointed accommodation for the most discerning of guests. With four outstanding bedrooms, three luxury bathrooms, a large social lounge, stunning state of the art kitchen with large dining table, a superbly equipped cinema room / fifth bedroom, plus an additional utility, laundry and WC room, this huge home provides ample space for up to 10 adults. A truly Grande Maison indeed, this 400-year-old property houses all of the charm and authenticity that you could imagine within these ancient city walls. Opulent French antique furniture juxtaposed perfectly with slick ultra-modern designer furnishings, exposed beams, majestic plasterwork, casement windows and original marble fireplaces throughout. You are assured of a fabulous nights sleep in our huge, decadent velvet beds with sumptuous cloud-like mattresses, and a wonderful copper freestanding bath that you could literally float off to heaven in. Be sure to visit The Shambles, a street of traditional timber-framed buildings dating back to the 14th century. And of course, the magnificent York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. There’s Viking heritage too, as York – then called Jorvik – was once the capital of a Viking territory. You can head back in time to learn more and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the time at the immersive Jorvik Viking Centre. The North Yorkshire city is also a centre for shopping, culture, arts and entertainment. Due to the city’s modest size it’s easy to explore its cobbled streets on foot. You can reach York from London by train in 2 hours. Or from the city of Leeds, it is just a 20 minute train ride.
