Mawenyoupe is a stone cottage near the base of Dunadd Fort, the seat of the 1st Kingdom of Scotland (Dalriada). The property is surrounded by ancient monuments, historical landmarks and breathtaking areas of outstanding natural beauty... and it's across the road from the village pub! What more could you ask for in a Scottish Cottage? The property consists of a large living room, open fireplace, 2 large sofas and an additional sofa bed. Kitchen with washing machine and table and chairs. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, with the master bedroom benefitting from a king-size bed and the second bedroom with 2 single beds. Bathroom with bath and shower. To the rear of the property is a patio area with seating and to the front, a small enclosure with seating where you can watch the world go by.
We have enjoyed numerous holidays and trips in the Argyll and Bute area as well as in the Highlands and the Isles of Scotland. Quite simply, we love it and want others to experience the area. The cottage is situated perfectly a few miles from Lochgilphead which has a host of amenities and is the administrative capital of Argyle & Bute.
Kilmichael Glassary is a small settlement on the edge of historic and beautiful Kilmartin Glen - an area with one of the richest concentrations of prehistoric monuments and historical sites in Scotland. It contains over 800 monuments within a 6-mile radius. The small town of Lochgilphead is just a short drive away. It is less than an hour's drive from Oban - Gateway to the Isles, Inverarary, Tarbet. The beautiful West Coast of Scotland, Argyll's Secret Coast and the Cowal Peninsula are all within reach and waiting for you to explore, as are many other undiscovered hamlets such as Kilmartin, Crinan Ferry, Craob Haven, Loch Melfort and Asknish Bay.
