Your room will be within the spectacular gardens of Muncaster Castle in the Coachman's Quarters area The castle itself is set in 65 acres of spectacular woodland gardens. The gardens have amazing views of Scafell Pike , Eskdale and the Cumbrian Fells. From some of the rooms you will have a view of the Muncaster Hawk and Owl Centre where you can see the Owls, Vultures and Eagles we care for Muncaster Castle Coachman's Quarters rooms are all self catering with a large communal kitchen available there is a large dining area and lounge too for the use of our guests. We Unfortunatly do not have a restaurant or bar on site. Breakfast & Dinner reservations can be made at our sister property the Pennington Hotel in the village of Ravenglass and we will give updates at Check in for availability, booking is necessary and due to demand availability is limited We do not enter rooms once you are checked in but our friendly team are always happy to provide extra items. Dogs are welcome in the Coachman's accommodation unfortunately we cannot allow dogs in the Bell Tents due to open farmland, farm animals and the general public in close proximity. There is an additional charge per dog per night with a maximum of 2 dogs in a room at the Coachman's accommodation.

Muncaster is home to the Hawk and Owl Centre which do daily displays throughout the season. Why not book an experience or sponsor a bird? There is an enchanted trail and playground, café and shops which are open daily throughout the season. There are 65 acres of beautiful woodland garden, which is famous for its rhododendrons and amazing views up Eskdale to Scafell, the highest mountain in England. The small village of Ravenglass is only two miles away on the estuary where you will find the family owned Pennington Hotel with its contemporary bar, restaurant and boutique rooms. The Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gage railway runs throughout the season up into Eskdale where there are plenty of walks for all tastes. You can even go up to Dalegarth in Eskdale and walk back to Muncaster. The spectacular Lake of Wasdale is only 9 miles away. The view looking up the lake was voted best View in England! If you are keen on wildlife there is plenty to see! There is plenty to do for all age groups so why not come and enjoy yourselves!
