East Fife Holiday Homes now part of the Short Stay Family is the largest provider of holiday let accommodation in the East Neuk and St Andrews, with a large dedicated team to make your trip as smooth as possible. We also have a shop front on High Street in Elie should you wish to pop in and chat. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
We are happy to communicate with all guests as much as necessary, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. When the booking is confirmed you will receive instructions via email with all the necessary information to check in at your leisure. Check in is from 4pm, unless one of our early check in options has been purchased. Check out is strictly 10am, unless one of our late check out options has been purchased.
Check in is via a secure key box for which you will be provided the key box code 7 days prior to arrival.

North Quarter Steading is a charming Category C-listed converted steading in the pretty village of Kingsbarns, just along the coast from St Andrews. Sleeping up to six guests, this luxurious three-bedroom holiday home offers an enclosed rear patio garden, two private parking spaces and easy access to both Kingsbarns Beach and Kingsbarns Golf Links – around 0.75 miles away. With the Inn at Kingsbarns only a short walk and the Fife Coastal Path close by, it’s a brilliant base for seaside escapes and golf breaks alike. Wi-Fi is provided, and one dog is welcome (terms and supplement apply).
Inside, a welcoming reception hall with tiled floor and carpeted staircase leads through to a bright, elegantly furnished sitting room. Double-aspect windows fill the space with natural light, while a stone fireplace with stove-style gas fire, large sofas, soft furnishings and Smart TV create a relaxed spot to unwind after a day on the course or the beach.
The luxury L-shaped dining kitchen is well equipped for longer stays, with an electric range cooker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, wine cooler, coffee maker and plenty of storage. A dining table for six sits by the door to the enclosed rear patio, making it easy to drift outside for alfresco meals in warmer weather. A contemporary ground-floor shower room with rainfall shower, vanity basin and heated towel rail keeps things practical for groups.
Upstairs, three inviting bedrooms offer flexible sleeping. The spacious master has a king-size bed (with super-king duvet), double wardrobe, chest of drawers and Velux windows to two sides. One twin faces the rear with zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a super king on request, while the second twin faces the front with two singles and ample storage. A sleek family bathroom with freestanding bath, handheld shower, vanity basin and heated towel rail completes the layout.

Kingsbarns is a peaceful coastal village in the East Neuk, known for its sweeping sandy beach, open farmland and relaxed charm. Just a few miles from St Andrews, it offers the ideal balance of quiet seaside living with quick access to the historic university town and its world-famous golfing heritage.
At the centre of the village is the Kingsbarns Inn, proudly owned and run by the local community, offering a warm welcome and a genuine sense of place. Nearby, the fishing villages of Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and St Monans are all within easy reach, each with its own picturesque harbour and coastal character.
Kingsbarns Golf Links — set among natural dunes with wide-open sea views — is one of Scotland’s most admired modern links courses. And for golf lovers, the iconic Old Course in St Andrews is only around 10 minutes by car, making Kingsbarns a perfect base for exploring some of the world’s most legendary courses.
Transport is straightforward, with regular buses to St Andrews and south through the East Neuk. The beach is just a short walk away, while everyday amenities are available in nearby St Andrews or Crail.
