Nikolai and Melinda have many years of experience in the hospitality business, as chef and hostess accordingly, both within the ski business in France and here in Scotland in summer, in hunting and fishing lodges. They know what makes for a successful and happy guest experience, by ensuring that the guests’ needs are met through expert planning and preparation and proactive anticipation of their guests’ every need. Nikolai will be the chef and on hand for all other aspects of the business. Melinda will be running the house as well and looking after our guests during their stay at Orchy Bank.

We are within easy access by road from Glasgow (70 miles), Edinburgh (100 miles), Stirling (62 miles) and Perth (70 miles), we are also accessible by train to Dalmally station, 15 minutes away by foot. Many visitors come to this part of Scotland to explore the coast and visit the islands. Caledonian MacBrayne run regular daily ferry services from Oban, as well as from other locations on the west coast, to the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

This part of Scotland is renowned for the rich diversity of wildlife, rugged scenery, ancient forests, sea and freshwater lochs, cascading rivers and magnificent mountains, plus thousands of miles of unspoilt coastline with access to the archipelago of the Western Isles, comprising the Inner Hebrides and up along the coast to the Outer Hebrides. A short 40 minute drive away is Oban, the UK’s seafood capital, with a rich history, stunning harbour and beautiful natural surroundings for wildlife-spotting. Fort William, also nearby, is the outdoor capital of UK with incredible climbing, mountaineering, walking, stalking, fishing, and a wide range of extreme sports including canyoning, snowboarding and skiing.
