Property information

Peggy Hill Cottage is a lovely find, close to the centre of Ambleside but tucked away off a small pedestrian lane. This property is a former 19th century farmhouse ideal for two couples or a family up to four people and located in the conservation area of old Ambleside with views to Wansfell and Loughrigg. It has been very carefully and thoughtfully restored to retain its character but incorporates modern updates for 21st century living. Behind Peggy Hill’s pretty front porch with its stained glass door is the cosy sitting room with beamed ceilings, comfortable sofas, traditional slate floor and luxurious rug in front of the log burner providing that warm winter feeling in cooler seasons. The fully equipped kitchen-diner has a traditional slate floor and table sufficient for four guests. Using the side door enables muddy boots and outdoor coats to be left in the utility area with ample storage space. Stairs start in the sitting room for the upper floor and both bedrooms. The half-landing has a separate WC and basin. The spacious double with king-size bed which looks out towards both Wansfell and Loughrigg boasts an en-suite with double size mains pressure shower, basin and WC. The twin room has views towards Wansfell and an en-suite with a shower over the bath, basin and WC. The cottage has been well renovated with new bathroom suites and is tastefully furnished throughout with fully fitted carpets upstairs. Gas central heating keeps guests cosy in any season. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed patio area with garden furniture and view of the village. This property comes with a parking permit for one vehicle.
