Penycrug is a traditional welsh cottage with all the character you could wish for, it is rural with beautiful views and set in a peaceful location with its own mature private garden , a haven for wildlife. There is a wood burner , oak beams , slate kitchen floor and a Rayburn cooker as well as modern hob and microwave. Fully equipped kitchen , modern shower room and central heating. The cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful Elan Valley , Brecon Beacons and ideally situated for the Royal welsh showground in Builth Wells. The Red Kite feeding centre is about 15 miles away and the literary festival in Hay on Wye is about a 40 minute drive. If you want peace and quiet and space to unwind along with outdoor activities in abundance such as hiking, horse riding , bird watching, kayaking and much more then this is the place for you. Please note there is only parking for 2 cars and 1 well behaved dog would be welcome. The property is NOT suitable for those with mobility problems.

I love to be able to share this beautiful part of the world with others . The cottage provides a warm welcome as soon as you walk through the door , especially after a day romping through the hills or cycling through forestry tracks . I enjoy greeting my guests and can be there if needed and out of the way if not, allowing my guests to feel completely at home .

There is plenty to do and see here , we have the elan valley dams , Brecon Beacons, hay on wye , and all the events that go on in the Royal Welsh showground to name but a few. The heart of wales train line is just 4 miles down the road. There are 2 local pubs serving home cooked food within 2 and 4 miles away and the smallest town in Wales , Llanwrtwd Wells with its many events including bog snorkelling and the world Alternative games , has to be seen to be believed ! There are lots of walks from the door as we are surrounded by farmland with many footpaths , rivers and hills . If you like walking, cycling, nature , adventure and fresh air then you are in the right place.
