Phil's Cottage is ideally located just 2 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. It has a unique charm with its cobbled streets, quaint alleyways and rich history. Some of its tourist hotspots include the dramatic castle, the Market Cross and the Bowes Museum. Barnard Castle is also a haven for shoppers and treasure seekers with its many antique shops and independent retailers providing a unique shopping experience. Nearby places to visit include: Egglestone Hall Gardens also known as the Secret Garden of the North, Raby Castle and High Force. It is also the perfect base for exploring the great outdoors and experiencing the beauty of the surrounding countryside, including Teesdale, Weardale and the Durham Dales.
