The Worledge / Lloyd family, provide a warm and homely welcome to all guests, and have privately owned Pulteney House since 1979. The large, mature gardens are always kept in beautiful condition and guests are encouraged to utilise them to the full where children can play in absolute safety. The house was built in 1852 as a private town house owned by a retired sea captain. The stables were built at the back of the property to house at least 2 horses, probably more, with rooms above for the stable hands to live in. The original stable building was converted into what is now the Coach House in the 1980’s and is an annex for the main building. Currently used as a 2 bedroom self catering apartment for 4 people. The Brunel Studio flat is self catering apartment for 2 people which was added later. The two ground floor rooms at the front of the house were used for entertaining and as such have beautifully decorated ceilings with plaster work typical for the Victorian era. This is also obvious in the main hallway as you enter the building from the front door. The original Victorian hallway door with coloured lead glass can be seen near Reception and is beautiful in its’ intricate design

Pulteney House is a large, elegant Victorian house set in its own picturesque south facing gardens, with fine views of Bath Abbey. All ten rooms are en suite except one ( single room ). Free Wi-Fi in all rooms and communal areas. A comfortable family television lounge is available for all guests to use as well as the gardens and grounds. Full fire regulations certificate is held and large secure car parking facilities are available for guests. All entertainments are close at hand, and the city centre is just a short, enjoyable stroll away (5 – 10 minutes level walk). Pulteney House is ideally located for sight-seeing in Bath, and for the surrounding areas.

Centrally located for easy access to Roman Baths, Bath Thermae Spa, Holbourne Museum, Pulteney Bridge, Royal Crescent, Circus, Pump Rooms, No1 Royal Crescent, Jane Austen Centre, Prior Park and Bath Abbey.
