We are happy to communicate with all guests as much as necessary, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. When the booking is confirmed you will receive instructions via email with all the necessary information to check in at your leisure. Check in is from 4pm, unless one of our early check in options has been purchased. Check out is strictly 10am, unless one of our late check out options has been purchased. Check in is via a secure key box for which you will be provided the key box code 7 days prior to arrival. Short Stay St Andrews offers you the chance to enhance your stay by purchasing optional extras. From a super early check in of 2pm to a luxury celebration hamper delivered to your choice of property so you are ready to pop open the champagne on arrival.

Perched right on the shoreline with direct access to the beach from the patio, Rockhopper Cottage is a little coastal gem made for sea lovers. Panoramic views stretch across the water, and inside the cottage has been recently modernised with bright, fresh décor and all the comforts of home – the kind of place where you can kick off your shoes, breathe in the sea air and properly switch off. Set over two floors, the ground level is all about relaxed, easy living. An entrance porch leads into the open-plan living room and kitchen, where comfy seating, a TV with DVD and a gas stove (with the look and feel of a wood burner, minus the effort) make things wonderfully cosy on cooler days. A dining table is positioned by the patio doors so you can eat with uninterrupted sea views, while the modern galley-style kitchen has all the mod cons you need for simple self-catering. From here, patio doors open onto a small south-facing terrace and lawn, with a gate and shared steps leading straight down to the sand – morning dips, rock pooling and shoreline walks are quite literally on your doorstep. A well-behaved dog is welcome on the ground floor, making this a great base for beach-loving pups too. Upstairs, there are two inviting bedrooms sleeping up to four guests. The master bedroom has jaw-dropping sea and beach views, with two single beds pushed together to form a super-king and separate single duvets so you can choose your own comfort level. The second bedroom has a single bed with a pull-out single beneath; given its size, this room works best for one adult or two children. A smart refitted bathroom with bath, overhead shower, WC, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and shaver point completes the first floor. The cottage is licensed for a maximum of four guests; there is a sofa bed in the living room that can be used within that limit, but guests must bring their own bedding or sleeping bag and pillow if they plan to use it.

Lower Largo is one of the most charming villages on the Fife coast, known for its sweeping shoreline, peaceful harbour, and timeless character. Birthplace of Alexander Selkirk – the real-life inspiration for Robinson Crusoe – the village carries a rich maritime history that blends beautifully with its relaxed, coastal atmosphere. A long stretch of sandy beach runs the length of the village, perfect for quiet walks, sea views, and watching the gentle rhythm of fishing boats offshore. At the heart of Lower Largo is its small but welcoming village centre, with cosy pubs, local cafés, and independent shops that give the area its warm community feel. The local inn by the harbour is a favourite stopping point for food, drinks, and sunset views, while artisan shops in nearby Lundin Links add to the variety. Everything in Lower Largo is within easy walking distance – from the historic Selkirk statue and the quaint harbour, to the coastal path, the beach, and the cafés dotted throughout the village. Lundin Links, just a short stroll away, offers one of Scotland’s most admired links golf courses, tracing its origins back to the 19th century and still known today for its classic layout and coastal scenery. The area is well connected by frequent bus routes to St Andrews, Leven, Anstruther, and the wider East Neuk, with taxis easily available for local trips. Distances are wonderfully compact: around 10 minutes’ walk to the Lundin Links Golf Course, less than 2 minutes to the beach, and only a short walk to local pubs and shoreline paths. Larger supermarkets can be found in Leven, though small local shops in Lower Largo and Lundin Links provide daily essentials and plenty of local character.
