Sea-Ah-na Side Cottage is a Grade II Listed Fisherman's cottage set in a quiet 'Old St Ives' side street yet steps away from the beach. Ideally situated if you want to be close to everything St Ives has to offer yet enjoy some peace and quiet in an authentic charming Cornish cottage. I've added luxury touches such as high quality bedding and a Nespresso compatible premium coffee machine. Stays from November will benefit from an upgraded Shower Room.
Wake up in the morning to the sound of the sea lapping the shore, open the stable door and breathe in that sea air as you take a look to the side and see what colour blue the sea is this morning. It ranges from predominantly turquoise to a deep cobalt blue. Take your tea or coffee down the steps to the quiet Bamaluz beach (the only 24 hour/365 day dog friendly beach in St Ives) or maybe have a wake-up swim in the crystal clear waters before your morning shower. Or if you can get out of the comfortable bed, the Sunrises are beautiful here along with Harbour Beach. You will also see people lined up on Porthmeor for the Sunsets, they can be very special on the other side of this narrow strip of land. Alternatively climb to the top of the Island for panoramic views.. it did in fact used to be an Island. My favourite thing is falling asleep to the sound of the sea and I sleep far too well here..
Hi there!!
I’m Joanna and have finally fulfilled my dream of becoming a host in my favourite part of Cornwall and St Ives. I’ve returned to my Grandma’s roots and lived in Cornwall for 10 years and cannot express how I absolutely love it here! Bamaluz beach still takes my breath away. I hope you love St Ives as much as me and I’m only up the coast so a phone call or text away if you need anything. I was previously a Manager for a 5 star hotel so am passionate about hospitality.
This conservation area is surrounded by beaches. Sea-AH-na Side is just a short stroll to 3 further sandy beaches (Harbour Beach, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor). Downalong (called this as it's just down from the Harbour) is one of the most sought after locations in St Ives due to this and the proximity to Galleries, Independent shops, Pubs, bars, Restaurants, Coastal path and the Tate.
I've tried to make Sea-AH-na Side as comfortable as possible so have made the second bedroom into a dressing room and/or workspace with decent well lit mirrors and plenty of storage. However this could accommodate a cot if you wish but please note the stairs are quite steep and exposed so unsafe for young children. Also being a very old cottage the shower is small but I'm hoping for listed planning consent to enlarge this soon
St Eia St (pronounced Eye-AH) is lovely and quiet so it's easy to unload the car right outside the door. The scenic Long Stay Island Car Park is a short stroll away but parking is difficult during busy periods. For a stress free experience in the busier months I recommend parking in St Ives Rugby club and the walk down to Porthmeor Beach is beautiful and still excites me. Once parked most visitors just abandon their car for a week as St Ives has so much to offer and the train ride is so scenic to Carbis Bay.
The essentials are all provided for your stay including towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, dish wash detergent, sponges, ground coffee, coffee pods, coffee bags, salt & pepper and a few days of tea, milk and sugar. We have the Norway stores close by and bakeries, greengrocers, deli's, Co-ops etc in the town. However you will pass an M&S food, a Farm Shop and a Tesco if you drive to St Ives.
I hope to host you very soon!
Joanna
