We have been renting our beautiful apartment for 7 years now. We love Whitby and want to share our affordable holiday bolthole with like minded couples who love to travel and explore all of the gems of the Yorkshire coast. We have created a home away from home, and recently refurbished the bathroom, kitchen, decor and fitted new carpets and we are proud of our achievements. Whitby is popular year round and is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets provide a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutiques. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in shops. There are plenty of excellent restaurants serving local fish and seafood, and a wonderful choice of pubs, bars, cafes, and tearooms. The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop, reached by climbing 199 steps. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia.
