Sky Cottage was originally renovated by us in 2003... a total revamp after 'Amy' had lived in it for about 70 years! We gave the cottage another face lift in 2017, after living in it full time for 5 years ourselves, we re-finished the oak floor, added a new dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave and most importantly a lovely new mattress. It has double glazing throughout and a pretty wood-burning stove for which we provide unlimited dry logs all year round, light it on chilly summer evenings, or for spring and autumn cosy Netflix watching and winter holidaying by the fire ... a must. Sit in bed looking out across the village roof tops to the river Fowey and beyond, a perfect start to the day. There is a modern power shower in the spacious shower room. The large leather sofa sits in front of the fire place. There is also a leather tub chair and two soft garden chairs for sunbathing on the sun drenched patio. A wooden table and chairs with parasol make for easy and comfortable garden dining. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to self cater for your whole holiday if you wish.

Having been holidaying at Sky Cottage since 2003 and living in Cornwall permanently since 2012, Cris now runs Sky Cottage as a holiday let and lives next door with husband Paul and their two friendly dogs. We do lots of kayaking especially in the Summer, either to Fowey or Lerryn for a coffee and even on occasion to Lostwithiel for fish and chips, it is a wonderful hobby, Sky Cottage changeovers are fitted in around the tides on warm sunny days! We LOVE our local pub, The Fisherman's Arms, with lovely landlord Nick, it is busy and friendly and a huge asset to the village.

The village of Golant, 4 road miles from Fowey, two miles by river, is a wonderful sanctuary, friendly with lots of river activity. There are plenty of trees and woodland all along the banks of the Fowey Estuary so you will find the area lush and green, including the tree lined narrow lane (our tree tunnel) leading into the village and down to the Estuary of the Fowey River. Plenty of walking can be done from the village, the Saints Way passes just in front of Sky Cottage. The local Fisherman's Arms pub (quiz every other Tuesday in the winter) serves good pub food The Eden Project is only 10 minutes drive away, it is FANTASTIC, check out their Eden Sessions if you are here in the summer as you get an open air concert in that fabulous location and also entry to Eden on the day of the concert and on the day afterwards. Lanhydrock National Trust House, the best NT property in our opinion, is only 10 minutes drive and the Lost Gardens of Heligan is approximately 10 miles, see a Wildworks or Kneehigh theatre production. You will not run out of new adventures even if you stay a month!
