Walking in the area is quite outstanding, in every direction, through countless hidden valleys with streams, wooded hillsides and breath-taking views. 1 Spring Cottage is just a few minutes walk from two pubs, both of which serve food, a restaurant and an award winning hotel with a celebrated chef and serving fantastic cocktails in elegant surroundings with fabulous views, inside and out. Explore the streets of Painswick with a self-guided Murder Mystery themed walking tour: a fun way to explore this beautiful town. The town and local area has been home to a great many filming locations including J.K. Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy, filmed in Painswick and other locations in the Cotswolds and nearby Gloucester Cathedral.
