Stable Cottage is a luxuriously furnished, comfortable, characterful and cosy cottage within the grounds of our house, which sits in between the villages of Gartocharn and Balloch, near Loch Lomond, in the beautiful Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Every effort has been made to create a beautiful interior that is both functional and cosy, with consideration of the natural environment and sustainability running all the way through. It sits within the grounds of Ashfield House – an elegant Georgian property dating from 1824, with substantial gardens comprising a large front lawn with sweeping driveway, a walled garden, a small wood and a field. The cottage is only a few metres from the house, but it retains a peaceful ambience, and guests are free to roam the grounds as they wish. The cottage has its own outdoor seating area at the back. Suited to couples, families with children, as well as walkers and cyclists, we also welcome well-behaved dogs. PLEASE NOTE: - Stable Cottage is very close to our house, and you will be sharing the grounds with our family and dog. - There is a working farm with sheep and cows adjacent to the property. - Up to two well-behaved dogs allowed. - Parking for up to two cars. - The loft bedroom has a very limited ceiling height, and is really only suitable for children.

We are Zoë and Iain, and we live in the house next door to Stable Cottage with our two children and two very friendly dogs. We will always extend a warm welcome, and more than likely be on hand should you require any help with anything. We understand that you might just want to keep yourselves to yourselves – but we also understand that you might want to ask us more information on something, and we will be more than happy to oblige. You might find our two young children wandering about the grounds, and you will almost certainly meet our dogs Daisy and Molly, who don't let anyone escape their welcome wiggle. Stable Cottage is really an extension of our home, and we welcome you wholeheartedly!

Situated within the magnificent Lomond and Trossachs National Park, between the villages of Balloch and Gartocharn, and very close to Loch Lomond, there are so many opportunities for outdoor pursuits, such as walking, mountaineering, sailing, cycling, kayaking, wild swimming... you name it. Glasgow is only a 40 minute drive away, and Glasgow airport even closer – whilst lochs and mountains and beauty abound – it really is the best of both worlds. The area is teeming with wildlife, from deer to red squirrels, and from tawny owls to bats - not to mention a wide variety of birdlife. We are off the main road of the A811, 1.5 miles SW from Gartocharn - an attractive rural village with small shop and post office, garage, petrol station, church, village hall, playground and weekly fruit and veg market - and 1.5 miles NW from Balloch - a tourist hub for exploring Loch Lomond, with numerous eateries, pubs and inns, as well as a Co-Op supermarket, pharmacy, railway station, cruise boats, and various other facilities. Stable Cottage is also only a ten minute drive from the 5* Cameron House Resort, with its superb amenities.
